Who We Are

ClimArts is a global, women-led initiative that brings artists, climate experts, and communities together to co-create climate stories for action.

We work at the intersection of art, research, and lived experience to help translate complex climate knowledge into narratives that foster understanding, connection, and engagement.

Our work spans collaborative storytelling projects, workshops, and expert-led partnerships that support climate communication across cultural, institutional, and community contexts.

Why Storytelling?

Stories shape how people make sense of complexity, uncertainty, & change.

In the context of climate change, one of the most urgent and interconnected challenges of our time, storytelling plays a critical role in how knowledge is understood, shared, and acted upon.

ClimArts operates within a climate communication culture that moves beyond fear-based or “doom and gloom” narratives. While grounded in evidence and urgency, we focus on solution-oriented, community-centred storytelling that emphasizes care, agency, and possibility. This includes stories rooted in public health, climate science, cultural knowledge, counter-narratives, and ancient and Indigenous wisdom.

At ClimArts, we ask these two questions of ourselves for every project :

Why do we choose to work with the people we do?

Why do we tell the story we tell?

Why do we choose to work with the people we do? • Why do we tell the story we tell? •

Our Values

Sensitivity

The climate emergency affects real people and communities. Our work looks beyond data alone, responding with care, emotional awareness, and respect for lived experience.

Authenticity

We believe climate stories must be honest, and grounded in solutions, while remaining accountable to the communities and audiences they serve.

Collaboration

Effective climate communication requires collaboration across disciplines, cultures, and perspectives. We dissolve boundaries to support shared authorship and collective purpose.

Our Team

ClimArts is led by an all-female ensemble team that brings together expertise in climate research, storytelling, facilitation, strategy, and program delivery.

Rather than operating through rigid roles, we work as a collaborative ensemble, contributing complementary skills toward shared projects and outcomes.

This structure allows ClimArts to respond flexibly to different contexts while maintaining coherence across our workshops, initiatives, and partnerships.

Together, the ClimArts ensemble supports the full lifecycle of our work, from concept development and collaboration design through to facilitation, delivery, and reflection. Each project is held with rigour, care, and shared responsibility.
